What are we ?
We are called the Student Moot Camp, the first educative Moot Court focusing on USA law in Turkey. Our goal is to create an opportunity for participants in the domain of law to have discussions about analyzing a problem, research the relevant law, prepare written submissions, and present oral arguments in the formal setting of a courtroom.
The Student Moot Camp’s adaptation of a Moot Court involves students taking the roles of key figures in a trial such as the judge, court reporter, clerk, bailiff, court interpreter, juror, plaintiff, and lawyer.
Apart from our Moot Court Camps, we plan on having conferences, contacting global organizations of law, self-improving alongside our participants, and organizing numerous events. Some of the Student Moot Camp programs will include Upenn Law School graduates for guidance.
WHAT IS A MOOT COURT ?
A Moot Court is a competition in the form of a fictional procedure before a court or authority. Moots Courts are usually limited to one or more areas of law. The participants represent a party, draft legal submissions, and plead their case before a Jury applies the law to a fictional case.
Why moot?
Mooting helps students
-to enhance their advocacy, legal research and writing skills;
-to work closely with and learn from their peers;
-to engage with and think deeply about interesting and topical legal issues.

Moot Courts may sound scary at first, but you aren't alone! This is because they appear as a challenging experience initially, however, most applicants describe it as enjoyable once they have committed to the Student Moot Camp. Mooting is valuable for your CV while it is fun too.
